The concept of life is to progress and change but for me to survive I need something to stay the same
A best friend that has been there for me from the start, back in the days before I could even walk or talk
This friend brought excitement and joy and could turn my whole day around, take that frown and turn it upside down
This friend was tough, strong, and struck fear into people for many years, I still remember the countless times me and this friend shared tears
Like any good thing this friend did change internally and not always for the best, but in the end I always grew to love the good changes and ignore the rest
At times me and this friend were on top but it’s a rough life and sometimes our best just wasn’t enough
This friend is the one friend I can ALWAYS count on no matter what
Other friends in my life come and go, some for a short time, others for forever more
But this friend is different; this friend knows I need them in my life
I tried to emulate this friend and do as they did, it was the greatest time of my life but I knew I wasn’t designed to be like this friend
During this time I learned respect, motivation, and trust, life lessons that should be instilled in all of us
So I write this poem to say thank you to this buddy of mine and to say no matter what I will always be loyal
So readers have you guessed by now? Or should I spell it out? Do you know this buddy of which I speak about?
Strange as it seems this buddy is simply my favorite team
Bleed black and gold for life, that’s right, My Pittsburgh Steelers inspired me to write
