Is it the rhyme line after line just to get someone to pay you some mind?
Is it the life lessons that bleed through your soul and leak onto the paper like an emotional reflection?
Is it that light guitar playing melodies in the back of your mind to keep a flow to your creation?
Is it hurt and the pain the joy and gain that inspire you to pick up that pen again?
Is it that you feel like that last bite and no one wants you because they had enough to eat that night?
Is it because you feel all alone in a world full of people but no one spiritual, emotional, or mentally is your equal?
A poet is only a poet in one's mind.
A poet is forever expressing their emotions through internal self rhyme.
A poet jus is. and cannot be a universal definition.
A poet is inside everyone, for it is the essence of your emotional vision.
